How to Enchant Swords

Enchanting turns a raw Sword Warriors blade into a build-defining tool. Once you reach World 3: Horde Camp, an enchant NPC lets you spend gems (or Enchant Cards for free rolls) to attach affixes such as Exp, Gem, Lucky, Crit, Attack Speed, Life Steal, and more. This guide covers where to enchant, how slots by rarity work, what the major affixes do, and when gem spending is smart versus wasteful. Pair it with the Worlds guide so you never enchant away your Glacial Chasm portal fund, and with Getting Started if you are still finishing Royal City.

Where to enchant

Travel to World 3: Horde Camp (portal from Outpost costs 750k gems; waves 101–150). Find the enchant NPC in the hub area and select the sword you want to modify. Rolls cost gems by default. Enchant Cards—from Codes, events, shops, or rewards—consume a card instead of the gem fee for that roll. Always redeem codes before a planned enchant session.

You can enchant only after Horde Camp is available. Worlds 1–2 focus on eggs, rebirths, and Duck ornaments; do not expect an early Royal City enchant desk.

Slots by rarity

Affix slots scale with sword rarity:

RarityEnchant slots
Common1
Rare1
Epic1
Legend1
Mysterious2
Eternity2

Single-slot swords need one excellent affix. Mysterious and Eternity blades can hold two simultaneous affixes—this is why endgame players chase high-star Mysterious/Eternity eggs before heavy enchant sinking. Crafting/combining systems can also help merge desirable high-level affixes onto a single dual-slot weapon when you already own partial hits; community “Ez Craft” style tips focus on keeping one Lv6 roll intact while combining. Treat craft merges as advanced; beginners should simply re-roll until the equipped sword shows a useful line.

Core affixes explained

Public enchant tables highlight these families (values rise across levels 1–6):

  • Exp bonus (specific world) — Large XP% while fighting in one chosen world (examples scale roughly 10% → 30% across levels). Perfect when you are rebirth-farming a single map.
  • Gem bonus (specific world) — Same idea for gem income on one world (~10% → 30%).
  • Exp bonus (global) — Smaller XP% that works everywhere (~4% → 14%).
  • Gem bonus (global) — Smaller gem% everywhere (~4% → 14%).
  • Lucky — Shifts egg odds away from Common toward higher rarities (Rare/Epic/Legend/Mysterious/Eternity weights improve per Lucky level). Unlockable from Rare rarity swords upward on the published matrix.
  • Crit lines (Crit Rate / Crit Damage depending on roll) — Offensive multipliers for push and Hall content.
  • Other combat rolls players debate heavily: Attack Speed versus Crit Damage, plus sustain tools like Life Steal.

Which combat affix is “best” depends on ornaments, heroes, and content. Attack Speed shines when your build already crits or life-steals through ornaments; Crit Damage shines when hit quality matters more than swing count. Life Steal saves runs when Priest is unequipped. Test on live waves after each roll instead of trusting a single chart—then sanity-check the Tier List.

When to spend gems on enchants

Spend gems when:

  1. Your next portal is already funded (see Worlds costs).
  2. The sword is a keeper (high stars, correct rarity, you will not replace it tomorrow).
  3. You are stuck on a world because clear speed or sustain—not raw missing Attack from eggs—is the bottleneck.
  4. You have Enchant Cards burning a hole in inventory (cards beat paying full gem price).
  5. You are preparing a dedicated XP sword (world Exp 6) or gem sword for farming sessions with Prophet equipped.

Do not spend gems when:

  1. You still need 20M for Glacial or 500M for Dark Castle and your gem pile is close to the toll.
  2. The blade is a temporary Common/Rare you will shatter after the next egg.
  3. You are mid-rebirth rush and every gem should be eggs or portals.
  4. You are about to unlock a much stronger Mysterious/Eternity that deserves the cards instead.

A practical split many accounts use: one farming sword (Exp/Gem/Lucky) and one push sword (Crit / Attack Speed / Life Steal). Dual-slot Eternity weapons can mix one farm line and one combat line.

Enchanting inside the wider loop

  1. Clear into Horde Camp using habits from Getting Started.
  2. Keep rebirth XP% high with Prophet (How to Rebirth).
  3. Hatch until you own a Mysterious or Eternity you actually like.
  4. Enchant with cards first, gems second.
  5. Take the sword into Eternal Guardian Hall and main Worlds to verify feel.
  6. Adjust affixes when Updates or new ornaments change the meta.

Controls still matter while testing—dash and skills on Controls stop “good enchant, bad movement” deaths.

Crafting tips without inventing mechanics

Players often combine dual-slot swords so two strong affixes land on one final weapon. The safe mental model: protect a Level 6 roll you love, combine with a donor that holds the second affix you want, and avoid feeding blank or low-roll donors that dilute the result. If a craft path feels unclear in your UI version, stop and re-roll on the live enchant NPC instead of gambling the only Eternity you own.

Common mistakes

  • Enchanting before the Glacial portal fund exists.
  • Dumping cards into a 0★ placeholder.
  • Chasing Lucky on a sword you never take to eggs.
  • Ignoring Life Steal then blaming Horde Camp difficulty.
  • Never comparing Attack Speed versus Crit with your actual ornaments equipped.

Session checklist

  • Redeem Codes for Enchant Cards and boosts.
  • Confirm portal reserve gems.
  • Select the keeper sword at the Horde Camp NPC.
  • Roll toward Exp/Gem/Lucky for farm goals or Crit/Speed/Leech for push goals.
  • Log the result, test for ten waves, then either keep or plan the next card.
  • Return to the Guides Hub for rebirth, heroes, and Hall pages when the sword feels finished.

Enchanting is a multiplier, not a replacement for rebirth stacks, Drillmaster, and hero Owned bonuses. Get those pillars standing, then let Horde Camp’s NPC polish the blade you will carry through Cemetery, Hell, and beyond.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common Sword Warriors questions.

Where do I enchant swords in Sword Warriors?

At the enchant NPC in World 3 Horde Camp. Pay gems per roll or spend Enchant Cards for free attempts.

How many enchant slots does each rarity get?

Common through Legend have one slot. Mysterious and Eternity swords have two slots for simultaneous affixes.

What do Exp and Gem enchants do?

They add experience or gem-gain bonuses, either for a specific world (larger values) or globally (smaller values). Higher enchant levels grant stronger percentages.

When should I spend gems on enchanting?

After your next portal cost is banked, on a keeper Mysterious/Eternity (or solid Legend), preferably using Enchant Cards first. Do not empty the Glacial or Dark Castle fund for random rolls.

Is Crit Damage always better than Attack Speed?

No. It depends on ornaments, heroes, and content. Test both on your real loadout; many players also value Life Steal for survival.
