Skills Guide for Sword Warriors

Skills are the active buttons on keys 1–5 that turn a raw sword swing into controlled AoE, panic iframes, and boss windows in Sword Warriors. Every rebirth permanently grants +1 skill point, so the longer you honor the rebirth loop, the deeper your skill tree becomes. This guide covers how points arrive, which early skills matter, when to spend Skill Reset Cards, and how skills fit beside heroes and ornaments. Redeem anything live on Codes before a respec session, and skim Players for full loadouts that already assume iframe skills.

How skill points work

• Each successful rebirth awards +1 skill point that never resets with your level.
• Points unlock and upgrade skills you then bind to hotkeys 1–5 (PC) or the on-screen skill buttons (mobile).
• Extra slots and deeper trees unlock as your total rebirth count and skill investment climb—treat early points as precious.
• Rebirth does not refund spent points. If you poured everything into a dead branch, you need a Skill Reset Card (codes, events, Boss Raid Rune Shop) to rebuild cleanly.

Because points are rebirth-gated, skipping rebirths also stalls your skill kit. Accounts that sit at the level requirement “to feel strong” fall behind both on slash % and on iframe uptime.

Binding and using skills (keys 1–5)

On PC, skills map to 1–5 by default. On mobile, tap the skill icons. Habits that matter:

1. Put your shortest-cooldown panic skill on 1 so muscle memory is instant.
2. Put a second iframe or high-AoE clear on 2.
3. Reserve later keys for niche damage skills, raid shop purchases, or experimental new skills after updates.
4. Practice pressing skills before HP hits zero—WhirlWind’s invulnerability only helps if you fire it early enough.

Core early and mid skills

Exact percentages shift with patches, but community skill showcases consistently highlight the same family:

Whirling Blade

A foundational slash-tree skill that throws blade damage forward on a moderate cooldown. Good first spend for accounts that need any active pressure beyond auto-swings. Upgrade it enough to unlock follow-on slash options, then evaluate whether your points belong in the WhirlWind branch instead.

WhirlWind (iframe spin)

The survival staple. WhirlWind deals spinning AoE while granting a multi-second invulnerability frame window (community timings often cite roughly 3+ seconds depending on level). Use it when packs surround you, when a Duck boss windup lands, during Drillmaster spikes, or while kiting Eternal Hall hazards. Many speed-regen and solo-clear builds treat WhirlWind as non-negotiable.

Three Blades

A multi-projectile slash follow-up that throws several blades for burst on clumped enemies. Strong when you already invested in the slash line and need more active damage without abandoning WhirlWind entirely.

Hurricane Slash

The premium iframe clear. Longer cooldown than WhirlWind, but community guides cite roughly 4–5 seconds of invulnerability with dense multi-hit damage while you remain mobile. Stacking WhirlWind + Hurricane Slash gives overlapping “oh no” buttons—fire one, kite, fire the other when the first ends. That pair carries many players through Glacial Chasm and beyond.

Later trees add named skills such as Circular Slash (short cooldown utility), Dragon Bite / Nidhoggur Breath lines, Flash Galaxy, Rage of Bahamut, Boundless Strike (often tied to Boss Raid shops), Shadow of North Wind, and other update skills. Always read cooldowns and iframe notes in the skill UI after a patch—Updates frequently ship one new skill with a world drop.

When to respec with Skill Reset Cards

Respec when:

• You dumped early points into pure damage and now die before casts finish.
• A new iframe or raid skill outclasses your old branch.
• You are pivoting from group carry DPS into solo sustain (or the reverse).
• Boss Raid or Eternal Hall demands different uptime than wave farming.

Do not burn a Skill Reset Card every rebirth. Bank cards from Codes (ENDLESSYES, seasonal bundles, milestone strings) and from the Boss Raid Rune Shop, then respec when your failure mode is clearly “wrong kit,” not “need five more rebirths.”

Suggested spend order for new accounts

1. Unlock a basic active (Whirling Blade or the tutorial recommendation).
2. Race toward WhirlWind and put enough points in to feel the iframe.
3. Unlock Hurricane Slash when the tree allows; keep both iframe skills bound.
4. Add Three Blades or a short-cooldown AoE only after survival tools exist.
5. After ~20–40 rebirths, reassess with a Reset Card if your bars still lack an immunity button.
6. Late game: experiment with raid shop skills and update skills while keeping at least one long iframe.

Skills inside the wider loop

Skills multiply good fundamentals—they do not replace gems, portals, or Drillmaster. After each rebirth:

1. Rebuild HP/Attack.
2. Re-equip skills on 1–5 (loadouts can feel empty after a reset if you forget to rebind).
3. Clear any new Drillmaster gate.
4. Resume waves with Prophet equipped for XP.

Common skill mistakes

• Saving every skill point “for later” while dying to telegraphs you could iframe.
• Binding only damage skills with zero invulnerability.
• Respeccing weekly instead of after real kit failures.
• Ignoring mobile skill buttons and relying only on auto-swing.
• Forgetting that Boss Raid and main worlds can prefer different skills—respec with a purpose.
