SwordDex Guide for Sword Warriors
Hit rarity star requirements, claim gem and egg milestones, transmog safely, and Activate keeper swords in Outpost.
SwordDex is Sword Warriors’ collection book for world swords. Filling each world’s checklist does more than satisfy completionists—it pays account-wide milestones such as gem bonuses, Transmogrified Cards, cheaper eggs, Gold Keys, and extra sword inventory packs. This guide explains how collection stars work by rarity, what each milestone historically rewards, how transmog cosmetics differ from stats, and where Sword Activate in World 2 Outpost fits beside hatching and enchanting. Cross-check blade priorities on the Swords Tier List and plan world clears with the Worlds Guide.
What counts as “collected”
Only specific swords from each world’s egg and reward pool fill that world’s SwordDex bar. Event-only and limited blades often unlock transmog skins once discovered, but the milestone counters themselves track the world’s designated checklist.
A sword only counts when it reaches the star requirement for its rarity:
| Rarity | Stars required to count |
|---|---|
| Normal / Common | 5★ |
| Rare | 4★ |
| Epic | 3★ |
| Legend | 2★ |
| Mysterious | 1★ |
| Eternity | 0★ (owning it at base already counts) |
That table is why dumping gems into Commons without merging stars fails to move the Dex, while a single Mysterious or Eternity find can tick a box immediately. Merge duplicates intentionally: hatch → keep the best Attack → feed copies for stars until the Dex requirement is met, then move budget back to portals.
Classic SwordDex milestones
Community docs describe a repeating milestone ladder tied to completing each world’s collection progress. Typical rewards include:
- +10% gem bonus on the current map — accelerates Duck payouts and portal banking.
- +1 Transmogrified Card — scarce cosmetic currency for transmog.
- −10% egg cost on the current map — makes finishing remaining Dex swords cheaper.
- +1 Gold Key — feeds Eternal Guardian Hall chests.
- +20 Sword Packs (extra inventory) — quality-of-life when your bag is full of merge fodder.
Exact world indices and sword counts per world shift as MiaoMeoHome adds maps (World 1 often lists a larger Common-heavy checklist than later worlds). Always trust the in-game SwordDex UI for live 0/N progress after a patch.
Transmog is cosmetic—use cards carefully
Transmogrification replaces the look of an equipped sword with another unlocked SwordDex skin. It does not copy Attack values, stars, or enchants. Steps in short:
- Earn a Transmogrified Card (SwordDex milestones, codes, events, Boss Raid shop).
- Unlock the desired skin by collecting that sword in the Dex.
- Equip the stat sword you actually fight with.
- Apply the skin and confirm—cards are consumed.
Never transmog before you are sure which blade is your long-term carrier. Cards are rarer than eggs.
Sword Activate (World 2 Outpost)
Separate from SwordDex—but part of the same “get more from every blade” mindset—is Sword Activate in World 2: Outpost. Activation spends gems, runes, and sword activity (swing animations completed while the blade is equipped—not raw kill count) to roll a permanent activation bonus. Common effect pool examples include:
- Extra damage in Raid Boss
- Critical damage
- Attack speed
- Life steal
- Skill cooldown reduction
- Extra damage in worlds
You typically nominate several preferred options and receive one at random. Activity and activation can reset when you craft/merge that sword upward, so many players wait until a blade is near its final star before spending large gem/rune costs. Endless / Eternal Hall shop swords that already carry Hall-specific damage rules may be ineligible—read the Outpost NPC tooltip.
Activation complements How to Enchant: enchants add affix rolls; activation adds a separate chosen-from-pool bonus. Do both on endgame carriers, not on every temporary Common.
Farming plan that respects portals
- Clear the current world’s Duck line for the ornament and gem chunks (Worlds).
- Hatch enough to put Mysterious/Eternity ticks into the Dex first (cheap Dex progress).
- Merge Commons/Rares only until their star gates are met—then stop over-investing.
- Claim the gem % and egg-discount milestones before a big hatch session.
- Bank portal gems separately so Dex completion never strands you one world behind.
- Visit Outpost to Activate only your keeper sword once activity is full.
- Spend Transmog Cards on cosmetics after stats are settled.

Common SwordDex mistakes
- Hatching endlessly without merging to the rarity’s star gate.
- Spending Transmog Cards on a sword you will replace tomorrow.
- Activating a 0★ temporary blade, then crafting it away and losing the roll.
- Ignoring egg-discount milestones before finishing a world’s checklist.
- Treating transmog as a damage upgrade (it is not).
Fill each world’s SwordDex with star requirements in mind, claim the gem and egg milestones on purpose, Activate only keeper blades in Outpost, and save transmog for cosmetics you love. That workflow turns collection into real account power instead of bag clutter.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common Sword Warriors questions.
How many stars does a sword need to count in SwordDex?
Normal/Common needs 5★, Rare 4★, Epic 3★, Legend 2★, Mysterious 1★, and Eternity counts at 0★.
What rewards do SwordDex milestones give?
Typical rewards include +10% map gems, a Transmogrified Card, −10% egg cost, a Gold Key, and +20 sword inventory packs. Check the in-game Dex for live values.
Does transmog change sword damage?
No. Transmogrification only changes the cosmetic skin. Attack, stars, and enchants stay on the equipped stat sword.
Where do I Activate swords?
Sword Activate is in World 2 Outpost. Fill the sword activity meter by swinging, then spend gems and runes to roll an activation bonus.
Should I Activate every sword I hatch?
No. Activate keeper blades near their final star. Crafting or merging can reset activity and activation on that sword.
